New Year’s Tea Spritzer Recipe

If you are looking for something new and unique to try at your New Year’s Eve party, why not give a Tea Spritzer a shot? It is rarely done and most importantly can be customized to fit any event – not to mention it’s quick and super easy to make! Here’s what you’ll need (per 2L):

20 grams of Cranberry Apple fruit tea

10 grams of Citrus Sunburst fruit tea

A 2L container

1/3 cup of simple syrup

4 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp grated lemon peel (orange works as well)

One bottle of your favorite sparkling wine or champagne

What you want to do first is make the simple syrup – simply heat 1/3 cup of simple syrup on a pan with a bit of water until it dissolves completely and becomes liquid (you can always add more, it’s important to start with less). While the simple syrup is simmering, prepare your base. Simply fill the container half way with hot water and let the tea steep for 20 minutes (make sure to use either a strainer or put the loose leaves into disposable paper filters). Once the infusion is done, let it cool (I put it in the fridge while I prepare the rest). Finely grate your lemon peel or orange (maybe even add a tiny bit of fresh ginger). Combine your simple syrup, ginger, grated citrus in the same saucepan you simmered your syrup, cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will bring out the necessary citrus flavor and aroma. Once this is done, combine the tea infusion (don’t forget to remove the tea bags) with the rest, let it cool (back in the fridge it goes!)When ready to serve, fill the remaining half of the container with a choice of your favorite sparkling beverage – its New Year’s, so why not a nice bottle of champagne?

I hope you enjoy your perfect tea spritzer and have a wonderful New Year’s celebration!
